Most auditions aren't what they seem.

Every season, dancers spend hundreds — sometimes thousands — of dollars travelling to auditions. Flights. Hotels. Fees. Time. But many of these auditions aren't for real jobs.

Companies often:

  • Hold auditions with no open positions
  • Stay vague about what they're actually hiring for
  • Use dancers as a pipeline for future consideration

And nobody talks about it. The industry runs on hope, and companies know it. Audition Atlas is here to change that.

Phantom auditions

Companies hold auditions with no available positions, using dancers as a free talent pipeline for future vacancies.

Zero transparency

Audition notices rarely state how many positions are available, what level, or what the panel actually wants to see.

Hidden costs

Young dancers — many early in their careers — bear the financial burden of flights, hotels, and audition fees for false opportunities.

Why we built this

Built by dancers
who've been there.

We created Audition Atlas because we lived the frustration ourselves. Planning an audition tour meant hours of searching across dozens of company websites, piecing together dates and deadlines with no single source of truth — and no way of knowing whether the opportunity at the end of it was real.

We have spent hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars travelling to auditions for companies that were not actively hiring. Not because we were naive — because there was simply no way to know. That information existed, whispered between dancers in passing, but never anywhere a dancer could actually find it before booking a flight.

Audition Atlas exists to change that. To give every dancer — regardless of who they know or where they trained — access to the same insider knowledge that has always existed, just never been shared openly. To simplify the planning process, protect the investment, and bring long-overdue transparency to an industry that has operated in the dark for too long.

Our team brings over 60 years of combined professional dance experience to this platform — as performers, auditionees, and industry insiders. We are not building this from the outside looking in. We have lived every part of it.

What dancers are saying.

"I flew to London for a Royal Ballet audition last year and spent £600. If I'd known from this platform what I know now, I would have made a very different decision."

"The weekend planner alone is worth the subscription. I managed to attend four auditions in New York in one weekend. The travel time estimates are so useful."
Contemporary dancer

★★★★★
"Finally a place where we can be honest with each other. The dance industry needs this. Every young dancer should have access to this before they spend their savings on a phantom audition."
