Important notice: This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal information by Audition Atlas ("we," "us," or "our") during the pre-launch research phase and upon platform launch. By accessing auditionatlas.com, submitting your email address to our waitlist, or completing our research survey, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Who we are
Audition Atlas is a pre-launch digital platform being developed to provide professional dancers worldwide with transparent, comprehensive information about dance auditions. We are currently in a research and development phase. Our website is located at auditionatlas.com. For all privacy-related enquiries, please contact us at info@auditionatlas.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Email address — collected when you join our waitlist via the forms on auditionatlas.com. Your email address is used solely to notify you of our platform launch, send you founding member benefits, and communicate updates you have consented to receive.
- Survey responses — if you complete our research questionnaire, we collect your answers to questions about your professional background, audition experiences, and product preferences. Survey responses are collected to inform product development decisions. Responses are anonymised before analysis and are not linked to your email address unless you voluntarily provide it at the end of the survey.
- Optional contact information — if you voluntarily provide your email address at the end of the research survey for follow-up contact, that information is stored separately and used only for the purpose of conducting follow-up research conversations.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data — when you visit auditionatlas.com, our hosting provider (Netlify) may automatically collect standard web server logs including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages visited. This data is used for security monitoring and general analytics and is not used to identify individual users.
- Cookies and local storage — our website does not currently use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We do not use cookies to track your behaviour across other websites. Basic session functionality may use local browser storage which does not transmit data to our servers.
2.3 Information we do not collect
We do not collect payment information during the pre-launch research phase. We do not collect sensitive personal information such as health data, financial information, government identification numbers, or biometric data. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 16.
3. How we use your information
We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:
- To notify you when Audition Atlas launches and to communicate your founding member benefits
- To send you updates about platform development that you have consented to receive
- To analyse anonymised survey responses in aggregate to inform product development
- To conduct follow-up research conversations with participants who have expressly consented
- To maintain the security and integrity of our website
- To comply with legal obligations
We will not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling. We will not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Legal basis for processing
For individuals located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions requiring a legal basis for data processing, we rely on the following:
- Consent — for collecting your email address for waitlist communications and for any optional survey contact information. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — for processing anonymised survey responses in aggregate to develop a product that serves dancers' needs. We have assessed that this interest is not overridden by your privacy rights given the anonymised nature of the processing.
- Legal obligation — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.
5. How we store and protect your information
Your email address is stored securely through Formspree (formspree.io), a third-party form processing service. Formspree processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy and applicable data protection laws. Survey responses submitted through our questionnaire are also processed via Formspree.
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your email address on our waitlist until you unsubscribe or request deletion, or until 12 months after the platform launches, whichever comes first. Survey response data is retained for a maximum of 24 months from the date of collection, after which it is permanently deleted or fully anonymised.
6. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — we share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website and conducting research (currently Formspree and Netlify). These providers are contractually required to use your information only for the purposes we specify and in accordance with applicable privacy law.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfer — if Audition Atlas is acquired by or merged with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and provide you with an opportunity to opt out.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right of access — you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Right to rectification — you may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Right to erasure — you may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions
- Right to restriction — you may request that we restrict processing of your information in certain circumstances
- Right to data portability — you may request your information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format
- Right to object — you may object to processing of your information where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@auditionatlas.com. We will respond to all valid requests within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
8. Unsubscribing from communications
You may unsubscribe from our waitlist communications at any time by emailing info@auditionatlas.com with the subject line "Unsubscribe." We will process your request within 5 business days. Please note that unsubscribing from marketing communications does not delete your data from our systems; to request deletion, please make a separate erasure request.
9. Children's privacy
Audition Atlas is intended for use by professional and pre-professional dancers aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a person under 16, please contact us immediately at info@auditionatlas.com and we will delete that information promptly.
10. International data transfers
Audition Atlas is operated from the United States. If you are accessing our website from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By providing your information, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer. We take appropriate steps to ensure that any international transfer of personal data is carried out in compliance with applicable law.
11. Third-party links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. For material changes, we will notify waitlist members by email where possible. Your continued use of our services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
